A local high school graduate is giving back to the community in a big way. Kylie Smith a graduate from Airline High School created a senior project designed to bring comfort to children during dark times. Kylie worked with local law enforcement to make "Drop a Bear, Show You Care" a reality.

The program gives stuffed animals to children to soothe them during domestic violence cases. The stuffed animals are donated to law enforcement who keep them in their patrol cars. Once the law enforcement agent is called to a domestic violence case, they give the toy to a child who may be on the scene of the call.

A special thank you to Kylie who recently dropped off over a 100 stuffed animals to the Bossier Parish Sheriff's office. If you know someone like Kylie who has gone above and beyond to give back to our community, nominate them to be recognized as a Face of Shreveport.
