Be Aware of the Symptoms of West Nile Virus

With the amount of rain we are going to be getting in the next few days in the Ark-La-Tex we need to be prepared for more mosquitoes. With that being said we need to also know the symptoms of West Nile Virus, so that you know when to contact your doctor.
Mild Symptoms include:
- Fever
- Headache
- Body aches
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Skin rash
According to Mayo Clinic, about 20 percent of the people infected experience mild symptoms. And less that 1 percent of people infected experience some severe stuff like inflammation of the brain and the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
Serious Symptoms Include:
- High fever
- Severe headache
- Stiff neck
- Disorientation or confusion
- Stupor or coma
- Tremors or muscle jerking
- Seizures
- Partial paralysis or muscle weakness
So before the rain comes be prepared. Get some bug spray and protect yourself, and if you have questions about your health status contact a doctor.
