Before he came on the show, Santoli did a lot of studying of previous Wheel of Fortune puzzles, nautical phrases in particular since the show's theme that week was sailing.

“I spent the days before our trip compiling a list of possible puzzles and key words themed toward sailing, cruising, water, and even fishing,” Santoli told TapInto.net.
