Louisiana’s Biggest Egg Drop is Back and Less Than 4 Hours Away
It's almost the time of year when the temperatures get warmer, the grass gets greener, and eggs turn all different colors. Easter is April 17th, but it's a safe bet that decorations, candy, and more are already in stores. Soon, every kid in the state will be losing their minds over when and where the biggest Easter-egg hunts will be. If you're willing to make the 3 & 1/2 hour drive (and, foot the bill for the gas), you can throw your eager little egg hunters in the mix for the biggest egg-drop in the entire state!
According to a report from KATC, the 7th Annual OSC EggDrop is scheduled to take place on April 9th at Jennings Parks & Recreation in Jennings, Louisiana from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M. - and these guys are going big! A helicopter will drop roughly 50,000 treat-filled, plastic Easter eggs onto the field. As soon as it is cleared, the kids are allowed to fill their baskets to the brim! To ensure that the whole process is as fair as possible, there will be several age categories: 0-4, 5-8, and 9-12 - with parents on the field to help all but the oldest group of kids.
Our Savior's Church's official website reports that the event will feature inflatable attractions, food trucks, and even a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself! Church officials say that while they suggest pre-registration for the event (which you can do here), they will be registering participants the day of the event.
