Kroger shoppers in Louisiana are worried that one of their favorite grocery stores may be closing. Kroger just announced that it will shut down operations at at least 60 of its stores over the next 18 months. Unfortunately, this announcement came right after the rumors surrounding a South Bossier Kroger location started.

Several Bossier Residents Claim that Kroger's South Bossier Location is Closing

Bossier City Councilman Chris Smith has confirmed with KEEL News that he's spoken to multiple Kroger employees who've been offered positions at other locations, indicating the Kroger at 4100 Barksdale Blvd will indeed be among the 60 stores slated for closure. When K945 contacted the South Bossier grocery store directly, the employee who answered declined to confirm the closing.

Kroger, a grocery giant operating over 2,700 retail food stores across 35 states under various banners like Ralphs and Smith's, is reportedly planning to close more than 60 locations. This move aims to "buoy the company financially," according to CBS News. For South Bossier residents who regularly shop at the Kroger on Barksdale Boulevard, this could mean finding a new grocery spot. While Kroger headquarters has yet to issue an official statement, several Bossier locals claim this particular store is among the 60 slated for closure.

The Kroger grocery store in question is located at 4100 Barksdale Blvd, Bossier City, LA 71112.
