Memorial Day Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled in Bossier
The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office says they'll be working over the long Memorial Day holiday weekend looking for drunk or impaired drivers.
As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office wants to remind everyone to stay safe if you're out celebrating. Even though there are lots of ways to get home safely, it's still a problem that some people choose to drink and drive, putting themselves and others in danger.
Just remember, it's never okay to drive after drinking or becoming otherwise impaired. Before you start your Memorial Day fun, make sure you have a sober driver or a ridesharing app ready to take you home.

This Saturday, May 25th, 2024, starting at 8 pm, the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office will be setting up a DWI checkpoint at an undisclosed Bossier Parish location. It will last until early Sunday morning and it's all part of their effort to keep our roads safe and protect families from the dangers of drunk driving. While their main focus is on impaired driving, they'll be keeping an eye out for other offenses too.
Thanks to a grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission for DWI Enforcement, they've got the funds to make this happen.
Remember, if you spot someone you think might be driving impaired, you can always give the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office a call at (318) 965-2203, any time of day or night. And in case of an emergency, dial 911.
