Shreveport City Councilman James Green will be facing charges in connection with a June 2nd incident at a Line Avenue eye doctor.

Shreveport police have issued a summons to Reverend Green to show up in court next month to face a charge of simple battery.  Green allegedly shoved a female employee at Eye Care at 5842 Line Avenue when he was told they were seeing patients by appointment only and he would not be allowed to enter the business due to COVID-19 capacity restrictions.

The summons issued to 69-year-old Reverend Green says he must appear in Shreveport City Court on the the morning of Aug. 25. The councilman has not made any public comments about this incident.
Green is accused of causing the disturbance and cursing at the female worker during the incident. He was not arrested at the time, but police have been investigating.
