Cajun Navy Supply to Host Drive Saturday for Hurricane Michael Victims
Jessy Broughton is the Vice President of Cajun Navy Supply and is from right here in our area. According to Jessy, they have several drives taking place across multiple states this weekend, but she says that they are aiming to make Bossier City's effort become the hub of all of these with two events planned for this Saturday, October 27, 2018.
Cajun Navy Supply will be at the Bossier City Farmer's Market in the parking lot of Pierre Bossier Mall Saturday from 9am-1pm collecting donations. The event is free to attend and parking is free as well. They will also be accepting donations Saturday evening at Devil's Knot Haunted Trail in Haughton, LA from 8pm to 12am.
All donations will be taken directly into areas ranging from Panama City Beach to Mexico Beach Sunday, October 28th, 2018. Here are the items they are looking for regarding donations:
-individually packaged snacks
-ready-to-eat meals (non perishable)
-feminine hygiene products
-personal cleaning wipes
-anti mold killing spray
Please, no clothing, furniture or cash donations.
Cajun Navy Supply are in need of monetary donations to help with the cost to ship items as well as to purchase more supplies, but ask that donations be made at www.cajunnavysupply.org.
Jessy recommends reaching out via the Cajun Navy Supply Facebook page if you have any questions or would like to volunteer your time. This is an effort that was born in Louisiana and they're always looking to bring more people into the fold!
