What is the Red River Revel Arts Festival?

The Red River Revel Arts Festival has been a signature event for Shreveport area residents for 48 years and prides itself on bringing our community the best in the arts from national, regional, and local artists and performers. Did you know that the Red River Revel Arts Festival was created in 1976 as a gift from the Junior League of Shreveport? In fact, Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport was built for the Revel!

If you grew up here, chances are you took a field trip to the Revel and you know what a gift to our community this event truly is. Research shows that exposure to the arts fuels positive skills and capacities that are valued by leaders and employers, such as persistence, collaboration, creative thinking, problem-solving, and motivation. Plus, art, no matter the medium, makes our world a more beautiful place. In addition to bringing art to the Ark-La-Tex, the Revel also celebrates our unique regional culture.

How can I submit my art for inclusion at Red River Revel 48?

Applications are now open for the 48th Annual Red River Revel Arts Festival to visual, music, and performing artists. All submissions are evaluated by a blind jury process and the deadline to apply is May 1, 2024. The Red River Revel will send acceptance notifications on May 24thwith the understanding that artists must complete the contract by June 7th. The deposit for artist booths must be paid by August 1st. For musical or performance based artists, you must submit a music sample to be considered. All applicants will be notified of submission status by May 24, 2024.
