The #1 Question for ‘Cold Ones’ Fans in Louisiana: Where’s Our Grog?
With over 3 million subscribers on YouTube, there are bound to be fans of Cold Ones in Louisiana who are tired of waiting for the comedy duo. Max and Chad of Cold Ones launched their drink, Grog, back in 2023, but because they are from Australia, the foreign seltzer has only recently made it to the United States. But here in the Bayou State, we're still begging to get a sip after our neighbors have gotten their hands on it.
Grog: The YouTuber Drink Louisiana Dreams Of
Cold Ones videos mostly feature the two hosts tasting different alcohols, attempting game show challenges, testing viral products, and a lot more, but all of it always comes back around to drinking somehow. The next step for the YouTubers became obvious: sell your own drink, and you'll have a YouTube channel with a couple of million subscribers to advertise to.
It's no secret we like our booze in Louisiana, just see how many Jello shots LSU fans crushed at the NCAA College World Series. Grog is touted as "an Aussie twist on [Cold Ones'] favorite Japanese sodas." With 6% ABV, full flavors, low calories, and low sugar, it makes a great drink for Mardi Gras parades, well, except for the fact you can't get it in the Pelican State.
Louisiana Still Waiting for Grog? Do Cold Ones Even Know Where Louisiana Is?
Grog is slowly being rolled out across the United States, and it was just in 2024 that California became the first state where Grog was easily available. In early 2025, the next 6 states to get Grog were picked by "vibes" in a video where Max and Chad ruled out states based on the "vibe" they get from the state.
Louisiana's neighbor, Texas, was picked by Chad because "it's bigger than every state around it and I can relate to that." Louisiana, however, was not even mentioned in the announcement video, so that either means Cold Ones fear what Louisiana would be capable of with Grog, they don't know we exist yet, or they're still working on setting the proper certifications and licenses to sell in each state.
