Support Shreveport-Bossier First Responders by Playing Cornhole
Yep, you can play cornhole aka bags, and support our local Shreveport-Bossier City first responders at the same time!
What does playing cornhole have to do with our local first responders?
The answer is absolutely nothing! It's just a fun way to get people together to help raise money for the folks who go to work every day and put their lives on the line for us... Even though I still giggle a little bit every time I hear the word 'cornhole!'
The second annual Battle of the Bags: First Responders Cornhole Tournament is set for Friday, October 7, 2022, at the Seventh Tap Brewing Project at 7 pm on Linwood Avenue in Shreveport.
The tournament is being hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission and sponsored by the Seventh Tap Brewing Project, the Shreveport-Bossier Cornhole Association, Raising Canes Chicken Fingers, Professional Fire Fighter Credit Union, and Premier Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling. The event is open to all active or retired first responders including police, fire, EMS, healthcare workers, military, etc. and proceeds will benefit the Shreveport and Bossier City Bomb Squads.
It's just $25 to enter and if you're flying solo, they'll match you up with a partner. Additional funds will be raised throughout the event via raffles and donations and the Seventh Tap Brewing Project will donate 10% of its proceeds from the evening. You can pre-register for the tournament by clicking here or at the event from 6 - 6:45 pm. The bags will fly at 7 pm! The top five teams will get a prize and the first 30 teams to sign up will receive a free drink ticket. After all, beer and bags go together like peanut butter and jelly!
