Get ready for a population boom!  Officials believe that strong law enforcement, good schools and a progressive reputation (plus, GREAT food in my humble opinion) will drive an influx of new residents to Bossier City and Bossier Parish.  In fact, according to the Greater Bossier Economic Development Foundations data, Bossier City’s population could rise to over 80,000 residents by 2019.  Bossier Parish is expected to grow to around 133,090 residents by then!  Expect way more traffic, especially on the Airline Drive and Benton Road corridors up to Benton.

It's not just new neighbors, it's also lots of new jobs.  Sam Marsiglia, executive director of the Bossier City-Parish Metropolitan Planning Commission, credits Barksdale Air Force Base and companies like the Cyber Innovation Center and CSRA for bringing in new jobs:

There is an increase in the number of jobs being created from more missions at the air force base… Hundreds of jobs are coming in from the CSRA group.  When you have one job, you get somebody with a family - you get the husband, wife and a couple kids.”

I like it!  This means more block parties, little league games, and longer commutes due to traffic.  I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
