DogSpot Offers Dog Houses on Sidewalks for Busy Pet Owners
No more skipping an errand because you don't want to leave your dog unattended.
It's Sunday evening and you're headed home from the dog park. You remember that you need egg for breakfast tomorrow so you decide to stop at the store. Just as you are about to turn off the ignition and run in, you remember that you dog is in the backseat. You can't take him inside and you're certainly not going to leave him in the car. So you shift to reverse and back out of the spot headed home once again.
There's now a solution for that scenario.
Earlier this year DogSpot started placing climate-controlled dog houses around various cities in front of grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops and more. What started as a place for dogs to simply cool off on the sidewalk has now turned into a saving grace for dog owners who are on the run. The dog house is big enough to fit just about any size dog and features a webcam so you can keep an eye on your pooch while you're inside.
So how do you use it?
Download the app on your phone, reserve a DogSpot and use the app to unlock the device. Then put your dog inside the house and close the door. It costs 30 cents per minute for you to use, or you can get a membership for $19.99 a month. It's like Uber for your dog.
DogSpot is available in about a dozen states and continues to grow based on online requests.
