Happy first day of spring to you and yours! Now we get to load up on allergy medicine and pray we don't get super sick and ruin our spring break. As of late the number one thing in my family group text is "What can we do that is cheap that will entertain the kids?" By "the kids" we mean my 3-year-old nephews and nieces. I found out about something that will wear out the kids and it's easy on the pocketbook. The 19th Annual Spring Egg Hunt and Ladybug Release will take over the American Rose Center. Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The day will be packed with Easter-themed games, face painting, and a bounce house. Your children can take a seed ball to plant at home as well. Kids can enjoy a nature scavenger hunt and receive some rose education that won't feel like education. Isn't that what every parent dreams of? Your kids can also help release over 22,000 environmentally-friendly ladybugs into the gardens to help protect the roses at the American Rose Center from harmful insects. Make sure your kids keep an eye out for the silver and gold Easter eggs because those eggs score kids a prize! There are different times for age groups for the Easter egg hunt.

Here are the Easter egg hunt time slots:
Ages 1-2: 11:00 a.m.
Ages 3-4: 11:30 a.m.
Ladybug Release at 12:00 p.m.
Ages 5-7: 1:00 p.m.
Ages 8-10: 1:30 p.m.

You and your family can take photos with the Easter Bunny for $10 each and rides on the Roseland Express will be $5. Gates will open at 10 a.m. and cost is $5 per person or $20 per carload.
