Local students pitched their business ideas in the hopes of winning cash prizes.

On Tuesday May 14, students at Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) pitched business ideas as they competed for a cash grand prize of $500. The pitches were presented in a 2-minuted drill fashion as a part of the inaugural Air Show Innovation Showcase. They event was put together by the Entrepreneurial Accelerator Program (EAP), BPCC, and the Air Force Reserve's 307th Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base.

This year's winner is Dakota Ferry.

Dakota pitched a plan for clean water filtration/collection and power generation plan. The idea is patent pending and is something he had been working on for a few years. This was his first opportunity to pitch it.

Second and third place winners also received prizes like BPCC gift cards worth $250 and $150. Second place was awarded to Panharith Bell and Juan Flores, while third place went to Paul Vu. Winners were selected by a panel of judges comprised of Barksdale officials, as well as BPCC and EAP staff.
