‘Equalizer’ Makes Strong Box Office Debut

"The Equalizer", starring Denzel Washington, was the unquestioned king of the box office this weekend, debuting at No. 1 with $35 million.

Last week's No. 1, "The Maze Runner", dropped to second place with $17.5 million, while the animated family film "The Boxtrolls" debuted in third place with an estimated $17.2 million.
