Jani Lane, former lead singer for '90's hair-metal band Warrant, was found dead Thursday in Los Angeles. He was 47.

According to an LAPD spokesperson, Lane's body was found in a hotel room in Woodland Hills, CA. No cause of death was announced.

Lane's band, Warrant, saw its biggest success in the late 1980's and early 1990's, but became overshadowed by the popularity of grunge bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Their hits included "Down Boys", "Heaven", and "Cherry Pie".
