Ginger’s Dog Had Some Issues this Morning

I woke up this morning with my poor baby boy's face swollen like crazy! We went to bed around 8 pm last night. He never got up during the night. He snored like usual, but when I went to wake him up for breakfast I noticed his face was 3 times it's normal size.

My poor Rudd! The first thing I did was google his symptoms and started calling vets in the area to see who was open.

WebMD said "Facial swelling in dogs can be life-threatening if the swelling progresses to the throat, so don't try to diagnose the cause of your dog's swelling yourself. If your pet's face looks swollen, or lopsided, get your dog to a veterinarian immediately." This was alarming information.

I noticed the swelling was moving down toward his neck and I didn't want to take any chances. Off to the vet! The boyfriend was able to get him there and have him looked at. Turned out to be exactly what we thought it was- an allergic reaction. He is doing okay. However, it is still a mystery at what caused the allergic reaction in the first place.
