Shreveport’s Give For Good Returns for the 10th Year of Giving
Giving is now open for Shreveport's largest philanthropic event of the year, the Community Foundation of North Louisiana Annual Give for Good campaign.
Give for Good is a program of the Community Foundation of North Louisiana. If you're not familiar with the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, it's a philanthropy that was established in 1961 with the express purpose of bringing people and resources together to solve problems and enhance our community. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over $80 million in grants to local non-profit organizations.
Since the Community Foundation began the Give for Good initiative in 2014, over 70,000 donations have generated over $16.5 million for our community. Last year alone, 4,500+ donors set a record by raising $2.39 million for 214 organizations. Those are post Covid-19 numbers. That tells you what a giving and loving community we live in.
There are two ways to donate during Give for Good. You can either select the specific organization you would like to support out of the participating non-profits or your donation can go into the 'Lagniappe' fund, which will then be distributed to the participating groups. Online giving begins April 18th this year and Give for Good Day is set for Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023.
Will you take the challenge to top last year's donations and 'give for good?' All gifts are 100% tax deductible, and the minimum gift is $10. I double-dog dare you!
