‘Gossip Girl’ Star Ed Westwick Accused of Rape
Former Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick has been accused of raping an actress three years ago.
Actress Kristina Cohen named Westwick, best known for playing Chuck Bass on the CW drama, as the man who sexually assaulted her. In a lengthy Facebook post, Cohen chronicled the events that led up to the alleged rape, as well as the aftermath.
Cohen says she was dating a man, whom she identifies only as "the producer," who brought her to Westwick's home where the actor suggested they all have sex.
After lying down in a bedroom because she was tired, Cohen claims she woke up to find Westwick "on top of me, his fingers entering my body. I told him to stop, but he was strong. I fought him off as hard as I could but he grabbed my face in his hands, shaking me, telling me he wanted to fuck me. I was paralyzed, terrified. I couldn’t speak, I could no longer move. He held me down and raped me."
Cohen also says her boyfriend discouraged her from saying anything, telling her that Westwick would destroy her career.
Cohen's allegations come in the wake of the growing number of similar claims made against Harvey Weinstein, as well as ones against Ben Affleck, former President George H.W. Bush and Kevin Spacey.
Westwick has not issued a comment on the matter.
