Have You ‘Finally’ Decorated for the Holidays? [OPINION]
Anyone else feeling behind because their tree is not up and decorated for Christmas?
You know what they say, "Don't believe everything you read on the Internet." I think there should be an asterisk on that saying, or at least a footnote, that says "Don't be pressured into something you read on the Internet." In other words, just because Susan has her garland and lights up at this point in time, doesn't mean you have to rush to do the same.
The other day, I saw a post on SnapChat from a friend. She was showing off her freshly decorated, Christmas-ready home. Gorgeous! On that video however, were the words "I finally decorated for Christmas." Could it have been sarcastic? Could it have been an exaggeration? Of course, but I took it as truth. She felt that she was behind in decorating and because I haven't even pulled my decorations out of storage then I am very, very behind.
*insert minor panic attack*
Honestly, I had to remind myself that we haven't even celebrated Thanksgiving yet. It does seem though that if you aren't fully "holly and jolly" by November 1 then you are just one big "bah humbug!" I'm a Christmas freak just like anyone else, but I feel no pressure to decorate at this moment in time.
What do you think? Is it too early to decorate?
