Andy Field is the official voice of the character 'Hand Unit' in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" video game series. His character works as a guide for players trying to survive the creepy horror environment.

"Five Nights at Freddy's" (FNAF) remains one of the top modern horror video game franchises, and is considered to be one of the most successful of all time. Field brings the Hand Unit character to life across several games in the series. The franchise just keeps growing with virtual reality games, and hit feature films.

Why Andy Field Crashed Geek'd Con 2026

Andy Field attended Geek'd Con in the past as an official guest...to sign autographs for fans, and to take pictures with them all weekend. But when he returned to the Shreveport Convention Center this most recent time, it was with a completely different plan in mind. He decided to experience the convention floor from the other side of the table.

Instead of sitting behind a guest booth, Field got a standard ticket, and walked right into the crowd. He put together an undercover cosplay designed to look just like the playable character from the video game. He blended right in with the thousands of ticketed attendees.

Field walked through the crowds specifically looking for fans dressed as FNAF characters. Once he found these franchise cosplayers, he walked right up to them with a very specific request: he wanted to have them grade his "impression" of the Hand Unit lines from the game.

He asked the convention attendees to listen, and rate, his impression of the Hand Unit character. Most of those fans had no idea they were actively grading the actual voice actor from the official game. They thought they were just talking to another fan wearing a costume.

The fans gave completely genuine reactions once they figured out the reality of the situation. After revealing his true identity, Field handed out prizes, signed autographs, and posed for photos with the fans who played along. The interactions built a very real connection with the local gaming community.

Field also used his undercover disguise to photobomb several of his fellow voice actors on the convention floor. His industry friends were officially attending the event as guests, and never realized he was sneaking up right behind them. The stunt added an unexpected element to the weekend schedule.

Geek'd Con is Shreveport's biggest comic and pop culture event. Launching in 2015, the event quickly became one of the premiere comic con style events in the entire state of Louisiana.

A big part of that growth has been the celebrity guest lineups. Since the first show in 2015, the quality of guests attending Geek'd Con rivals any pop culture event of this size.
