Lea Thompson Joining Geek’d Con Shreveport 2026 Lineup

Geek'd Con returns to the Shreveport Convention Center this August for another year of pop culture madness. The convention takes place from August 14 through August 16, 2026.

This gathering operates as THE major pop culture event in the Ark-La-Tex region. It features vendor booths, cosplay contests, and celebrity guest autograph sessions.

Lea Thompson Is Coming To Shreveport

Shreveport's comic con, Geek'd Con, has announced that Lea Thompson is officially joining the 2026 Geek'd Con lineup!

Lea's most famous role cemented her as a beloved figure in American pop culture history...playing Lorraine Baines-McFly across the entire 'Back to the Future' film trilogy. From time-traveling back to 1955 where she played Marty McFly's teenage mother, to her roles as Maggie and Lorraine McFly in the sequels, her performance is truly the heart behind of one of the most iconic sci-fi franchises of all time.

Was Howard The Duck The First MCU Movie?

Comic book fans will also immediately recognize her as Beverly Switzler, the lead vocalist of the band Cherry Bomb, in the 1986 superhero comedy 'Howard the Duck'. She helped bring the character's Marvel comic book origins to the big screen, in one of the earliest cinematic adaptations of a Marvel comics property.

Lea not only starred in the film, but also provided the actual singing voice for the character's hit songs on the official soundtrack!

Her massive film resume continues with some of the most memorable movies of the 1980s and 1990s. She starred as Erica Mason, the a survivor fighting during World War III in 'Red Dawn' (1984), starring opposite Tom Cruise in 'All the Right Move's (1983), and brought another beloved character off the animated pages to life as Alice Mitchell in the 1993 family comedy 'Dennis the Menace'.

Lea Thompson's TV Career Is Amazing

Beyond the big screen, Lea has built an incredible television career. She is perhaps best known on TV for starring as cartoonist Caroline Duffy in the hit NBC sitcom 'Caroline in the City'. The show was a staple of television, running for 97 episodes in the legendary "Must See TV" Thursday night block, with Lea even serving as a producer for 22 episodes!

She later spent five seasons co-starring as Kathryn Kennish on the Peabody Award-winning series 'Switched at Birth', starred in nine 'Jane Doe' mystery television films, and most recently took on the lead role in the mystery series 'The Spencer Sisters'.
