Have You Heard “Shreveport” by Turnpike Troubadours? [VIDEO]
Where has this song been all my life? For anyone who lives or has lived in Shreveport, you’ll love every bit of this song.
It’s amazing what you’ll randomly find on YouTube. Tonight, this video popped into my recommended feed and when I saw that the actual title of the song is “Shreveport”, I couldn’t wait to dive right in. I will say, something tells me I’m late to the party because the song was released in 2010 and has amassed over half a million views on YouTube. So if I’m the last person in town to find out about this song, please don’t hold it against me.
The song is littered with Shreveport references, from spicy crawfish, to casinos, to police officers handing out the business. I will say, in the beginning of the song, he’s singing about a crawfish joint with ceiling fans on a screened in patio. I have to believe he’s talking about Crawfish Palace in Haughton, right??
