This Friday Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theatres and we are all more than hyped to see both the merc with a mouth and the real weapon x make it to the big screen once more. You might be hyped up to hear that John Lucas, a comic book artist who's done awesome art of Deadpool and Wolverine, is coming to Shreveport in just a few weeks for Geek'd Con 2024.

John Lucas was born and raised in Texas and according to his Bio on his website, he had always had his eyes set on becoming a comic artist, which if you couldn't tell this far in, he succeeded at. Lucas has gone on to draw for several publications including the two big kahunas of American comic books, Marvel and DC. His first published work was done with Martin Thomas for Absolute Comics' Shotloose, later moving on to make his first major publication debut for DC doing both penciling and inking on the one-shot Starman 80-Page Giant #1 in 1999. Arguably Lucas' most memorable work was done with the red and white titans of comics, Marvel, kicking off his career with them inking Civil War: Frontline #1-11.

Above are two books Lucas worked on including our favorite mutant mercenary and disgruntled X-man, Deadpool, and Wolverine.

Fun fact about John Lucas' comic book career, he's not the only John Lucas doing comic book art. The other John Lucas is credited online as the same John Lucas coming to Geek'd Con later this year but they are very much not the same person. One of these John Lucas did art for Deadpool and the other did... *suspenseful pause* cover art for Marvel Comics' Barbie comic series from the early 1990s. So word of advice don't bring Barbie issue #13 to get signed this August, or do, and maybe just maybe the other John Lucas will sign it.
