Shreveport Police have arrested a man in connection with a home invasion.  Back in December, Shreveport Police received a report of an armed person who had just kicked the door of a residence down in the 500 block of Sassafras Avenue near Linwood Avenue. A male wearing a hood and mask forcefully kicked in a residence door in the 500 block of Sassafras Avenue.  The suspect entered the residence armed with a rifle. At the time, an adult female and her children were home. The suspect fled the residence and no one was injured.

Detectives with the Tactical Robbery Unit were summoned to this location and began their investigation. Throughout their investigation, detectives identified Demichael Turel as the suspect involved in this crime. An arrest warrant charging Turel with one count of Home Invasion.

Today, Shreveport Police received information that Turel was at a home in the 3000 block of Drexel Street. Shreveport Police with the assistance of the Caddo Sheriff Office located the suspect at this location and took him into custody.  Turel also had an outstanding warrant for Second Degree Murder in an unrelated offense.
