The Houston Texans are making their first round of moves to get their roster size down to 53 players. This weekend all NFL teams have to get their rosters down to the regular season maximum size of 53.

The first round of Texans cuts was small compared to other franchises, and was highlighted by a veteran punter. CBS Sports posted the first wave of Texans cuts earlier this morning:

P Bryan Anger, DL Javier Edwards, RB Josh Ferguson, OL Christian DiLauro

Anger has been punting in the NFL since 2012, leading the league in punting yardage once, and average yards per punt one time as well. He was also a part of the 2012 NFL All-Rookie Team.

Running back Josh Ferguson was also included in the cuts, and many believe that is in anticipation of the Texans making a run at LeSean McCoy, who is reportedly being cut by the Buffalo Bills. Ever since Texans running back Lamar Miller went down with a season-ending torn ACL, McCoy's name has been rumored as a Texans' target.
