The President drew a line heading into the weekend when he referred to an athlete who participates in protests as a "son of a bitch" during a campaign rally in Alabama. His main focus was the NFL, which enraged, and confused, players, coaches, team management, and even owners. He doubled-down on Saturday by calling out the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, saying they were no longer welcome to the White House (however the team had already announced they would not be attending).

After the comments were made by the President, athletes took to social media to begin responding. However that quickly moved to team management, and even owners. Most of the statements made by ownership include the term "divisive", including Houston Texans owner Bob McNair. This is of extreme note, because of all NFL owners who made political contributions to the Trump campaign, McNair donated the most.
