How Far Are You Willing to Go in Airport Security Lines?
Let's be honest, there are a lot of rules to follow in order to board a plane.
I recently took a trip to Atlanta, which is the first trip that I've taken in a hot minute. I've learned the art of carry-on traveling and have gotten very good at packing smart so I don't have to check a bag. This does however, create a little more work at the security line. I've got two bags instead of one and I've got more things that I need to pull out for the scanner like liquids and big electronics. Typically these things don't matter if they're in your checked luggage.
But I don't mind.
Ok, I'll admit it's a pain, but at the same time I'm willing to follow the rules. Those rules are supposed to keep us safe, right? And just because I know I'm not a bad person, doesn't mean the men and women in uniform do. So I submit to taking off my shoes and pulling off my jacket.
Don't you?
I recently had this conversation with some girlfriends and they told me that they almost never do everything that is asked. Liquids coming out? Nah. Remove my coat? Nope. Take off your shoes? Hmph... when's the last time this floor was washed? Now, these girls travel a lot more than I do so I can see how it would get annoying doing this every time you traveled, but I still found myself a little shocked.
So now I ask you.
How far do you go in airport security lines? No judgment here. If you try to skirt the rules, are you reprimanded? I've seen way too many people around me get scolded for not doing what the sign tells them to, so I don't mess with it. What is your reason for following or not following the rules?
