According to the Secretary of State's Office, more than 250,000 Louisiana residents showed up over the weekend to cast their vote in the upcoming presidential election. As of Sunday, the state is reporting that 258,017 people have early voted.

East Baton Rouge Parish saw the largest early voter turnout with 26,379 people casting ballots over the weekend. As you may have noticed downtown, Caddo also had a large early voter turnout. There were 11,129 early votes cast in Caddo between Friday when polls open and Sunday evening. In Bossier, 8,416 people casted their votes.

Also according to the stat breakdown provided by the Secretary of State, so far, 134,761 registered Democrats, 84,436 Republicans and 38,820 Independent/other party voters have cast ballots.

The early voting period began in the state October 17th and will end October 27. Registered voters in Caddo can cast their ballots at the Caddo Parish Registrar of Voters office at 525 Marshall Street. In Bossier, there are two locations: the Bossier Parish Central Library History Center at 2206 Beckett St. and at the registrar’s office in the Bossier Parish courthouse.
