This week, the Louisiana Department of Public Safety is predicting that a lot of people travelling between Texas and Louisiana via I-20 could be late to Thanksgiving dinner.  The construction project at the border, coupled with the increased traffic volume the holiday brings, will be causing some incredibly long wait times this Thursday.  The Texas Department of Public Safety is urging motorists headed east through this very busy thoroughfare to seek alternate routes, or at least pack a snack.

According to the Marshall News Messenger,  DPS officials on the Texas side are warning motorists to expect "major delays."  That's not a term they throw around lightly-- the last time "major delays," were announced (Nov. 6th of this year), the east-bound lane was shut down completely for hours due to an 18-wheeler accident in the one-lane construction area.  Hwy 80 is my favorite alternate route for these particular travel inconveniences.
