If You Get a Parking Ticket, It’s Probably From Shreveport
If you've ever rushed out of work, Rhino Coffee, the Robinson Film Center, Parish Taceaux, or anything downtown - you probably know the pain a little piece of red or pink paper underneath your wiper can cause. The crazy thing is, people around the country suffering from parking ticket pain can most likely blame Shreveport.
I'm not suggesting that the SPD is writing tickets for illegal parking across the U.S., I'm pointing out that there's a better than average chance that the ticket itself was made at Southland Printing. After their recent acquisition of their California-based competitor Digital Printing Systems, Southland is now the largest parking ticket printer in the U.S.
According to the report from KTBS, not only will Southland print more than 1.5 billion tickets per year and service all 50 states they also have contracts with more than 49 countries around the world.
If you have some tickets to pay off, why not work for the company that (kinda) got you into this mess in the first place? Southland Printing is planning to ramp up their entire operation to take advantage of their king-of-the-hill status. The printing company has been named one of the best places to work in Shreveport many times over, and they are currently looking to fill the following positions:
- Customer Service Representatives: Responsible for serving existing customers by selling products and meeting customer needs
- Pre-Press Technicians: Generate digital images and print files for digital press that comply with job and departmental specifications and procedures and perform typesetting and platemaking functions for the Prepress Department
- Digital Press Operators: Responsible for the operation of digital printing press to produce high quality printed products for on-time delivery
- Press Assistants: Responsible for packaging printed products produced on a printing press
