If you're looking for something to do on this 4th of July in Shreveport then this might peak your interest, especially if you're a country music fan. This 4th of July Louisiana Downs is throwing a huge event to celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, with fireworks, food trucks, a kids zone, petting zoo, live races, and tribute concerts for Shania Twain and the late country legend Toby Keith.

Live races will be kicking off at 4:05pm tomorrow with food trucks, kids zone, and petting zoo on site. After the races end at 8pm American Soldier takes the stage for a Toby Keith Tribute followed by Shania Twang with their tribute concert to Shania Twain. Best of all, no 4th of July celebration is complete without fireworks, at 9:30pm after the concert is the fireworks extravaganza, you can watch from inside the grandstands or outside the apron.

Louisiana Downs warns that outside food and drinks will not be permitted and for seating they have bleachers provided but ask that you bring your own lawn chairs as well.

Toby Keith Foundation and the OK Kids Korral

All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Toby Keith Foundation, a charity dedicated to encouraging the health and happiness of pediatric cancer patients. The foundation also runs the OK Kids Korral, a facility for pediatric cancer patients and their families with the goal of making life and treatment more comforting by providing a safe and hopeful place for families to stay.
