Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ Show Off Royal Powers in New Comic-Con Trailer
Let’s not mince words; Marvel’s ABC Inhumans didn’t look great in a first trailer for its late September premiere. Time heals some wounds, as a new Comic-Con glimpse of the Royal Family in action shows off more polished effects for the September IMAX release.
Picking up from its initial sneak peek, Marvel released a second official trailer for The Inhumans, giving us a first taste of side-characters’ unique physiology and more complicated effects like Lockjaw and Medusa. There’s also stronger confirmation that part of the series will take place on Earth’s moon, as well as Maximus’ betrayal, and a strong emphasis on IMAX viewership. So reads a synopsis for the new series:
After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.
In addition to Anson Mount as King Black Bolt, Marvel’s ABC Inhumans features Game of Thrones star Iwan Rheon as his brother Maximus, Serinda Swan as Queen Medusa, and Ken Leung as advisor Karnak. Further cast includes Isabelle Cornish as Medusa’s sister Crystal, Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, Mike Moh as Triton, Sonya Balmores as Auran, and Ellen Woglom and LOST alum Henry Ian Cusick in human roles.
Elsewhere of Marvel’s The Inhumans, we know that Iron Fist alum Scott Buck showruns the series for Marvel and ABC. Roel Reiné directs the first two episodes, while Marvel has stated that The Inhumans will not have any direct crossover with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or the films.
Watch the first trailer below, and stay tuned for more on Marvel and ABC’s The Inhumans as we get closer to the IMAX premiere in September.
