A school shooting took place this morning at a high-school in Southern California. At least six people were reported injured in the shooting.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said that deputies responded to Saugus High School in the city of Santa Clarita, about 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

A male suspect in all black clothing was last spotted near the school, but managed to evade police. The police are urging people in the surrounding area to lock their doors and report anything suspicious.

It's not clear yet if any of the six injuries reported were gunshot related, and police are still on the scene searching frantically for the suspect. All schools in the area have also been locked-down as a precaution.

According to Wikipedia, this adds to the ever growing list of 334 mass shootings in the United States in 2019 alone.

The entire area will remain under intense police watch until the suspect is apprehended.
