He arrived in East Texas a few days ago to get ready to fish in the Major League Fishing's (MLF) Tackle Warehouse Invitational. That tournament is scheduled for February 9th through 11th on Lake Sam Rayburn.

A Great Day for Pre-Fishing

According to Bob Sealy from Sealy Outdoors, Morrison was out on Rayburn on Monday doing some pre-fishing before the weekend tournament. On his very first cast, something hit his line hard.

That something ended up being a large-mouth bass weighing 13.82 pounds!

What part of the lake was he fishing and what did he catch it on? Yeah, good luck finding out.

ShareLunker Legacy Class

During the first three months of the season (Jan. 1 through March 31), anglers who reel in a 13-plus pound bass can loan it to TPWD for the ShareLunker selective breeding and stocking program.

This is exactly what Morrison did, and in doing so earned Legacy Class status. He will receive a catch kit filled with merchandise, a 13lb+ Legacy decal for their vehicle or boat, VIP access to the Toyota ShareLunker Annual Awards event, a high-quality replica mount of their fish from Lake Fork Taxidermy, and other prizes and perks.

How to Achieve Lunker Status

Since 1986, the year-round Toyota ShareLunker program has been offering four levels of participation for catching bass over eight pounds or 24 inches in Texas.

Anglers who enter data for any lunker during the 2024 calendar year receive a catch kit, a decal for their vehicle or boat, a one-month subscription to Bass University and an entry into the year-end Grand Prize Drawing to win a $5,000 Bass Pro Shops shopping spree.

ShareLunker entry classes include the Bass Pro Shops Lunker Class (8 lb.+), Strike King Elite Class (10 lb.+), and Lew’s Legend Class (13 lb.+).

The Biggest Legacy Class ShareLunker of the season so far was caught in January on Lake O.H. Ivie. Bobby Waldron of Mineola brought in this 14.75-pound tank of a bass.
