Avoid at All Costs: New Lane Closures to Worsen Airline Drive Traffic
As if traffic on Airline Drive in Bossier City wasn't already some of the worst in the whole state of Louisiana, it's about to get even worse.

Starting today, Tuesday, September 2, according to an announcement from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, there will be intermittent outside (right) lane closures on LA 3015 (Airline Drive) at the I-20 interchange in Bossier City.
DOTD goes on to explain that these lane closures will be in place while work is being conducted for approximately the next two months. The closures will be lifted as much as possible while no work is taking place to help alleviate congestion.

The announcement further details that these intermittent lane closures are necessary to allow the contractor for the ongoing I-20 major rehabilitation project to conduct work tying the newly built on and off-ramps into the roadway, as well as perform roadway maintenance work on Airline Drive at this location.
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Remember to leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front of you.
Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active construction zone.
