Where to See the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile in Shreveport This Weekend

If you’re a "wiener lover" like myself, chances are you’ve spent a fair amount of time hunting down the most famous hot dog on wheels.

Well, I have some "relish-able" news for you: the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is officially rolling back into the 318, and it’s heading to one of my absolute favorite local hangouts.

This Saturday, February 21st, the "it spot" in Shreveport is going to be Great Raft Brewing. There is just something about pairing a world-class local brew with a 27-foot-long hot dog that feels like the ultimate Saturday vibe.

I caught up with "At The Grill Isaac," one of the official Hotdoggers behind the wheel, and he is just as hyped as we are.

"I’m thrilled to share that we’ll be rolling into the Shreveport area for a special event," Isaac told me. "The Wienermobile will be serving up smiles, those legendary Wiener Whistles, and a whole lot of fun."

Now, if you know me, you know I’m a sucker for a good marketing campaign, and in my humble opinion, this is the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time).

The Wienermobile isn’t just a giant hot dog; it’s a piece of American history. It first hit the streets in 1936, dreamed up by Carl G. Mayer (the founder's nephew) to promote "German-style Wieners." The original was only 13 feet long with open cockpits—basically a tiny snack compared to the beast we see today!

I live for catching these "in the wild." There is something so nostalgic about seeing that bright orange and yellow silhouette cruising down Dalzell Street. Whether you’re there for the photo op, the whistles, or just to hang out at Great Raft, it’s going to be a blast.
