Caddo Correctional Center Inmate Found Dead from Apparent Suicide

On 07/25/2024, a 56-year-old man was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for first-degree Rape, Molestation of a juvenile, and Sexual Battery.

On 07/27/2024, at approximately 3:26 AM, deputies in the housing unit found a 56-year-old man unresponsive in his cell during a welfare check. Deputies and medical staff immediately performed life-saving measures on the male until Shreveport Fire Department arrived on the scene. The Fire Department transported the male to Willis Knighton North (2474 Greenwood Road Shreveport, LA), where he was pronounced deceased by the medical staff.

Caddo Sheriff's Investigators are conducting an investigation into this incident.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office has a strict protocol when it comes to inmate deaths. CPSO will investigate all angles, and will be checking security cameras, as well as interviewing possible witnesses.
