Operation Santa Claus Brings Joy To Shreveport Kids This Christmas
Operation Santa Claus is officially rolling for 2025 and we need your help to make sure every child in Shreveport and Bossier City wakes up with a smile on Christmas morning.
All the way back in 1984, the Shreveport Fire Department and Shreveport Police Department teamed up with KWKH to form Operation Santa Claus. The goal was to help as many kids in the Shreveport area as possible. Without missing a beat, the program has continued on to this day. Which brings us to this season.
The Shreveport Police and Shreveport Fire Departments are hitting the streets to collect new, unwrapped toys for local kids who might not have a Christmas otherwise. You know the drill...there will be live broadcasts, the fire trucks will be there, the police cars will have the lights on, and you drive up...pop the trunk...and the departments will take care of the rest.

The Shreveport-Bossier Community Is Stepping Up Big
Every year there are multiple groups, businesses, and organizations that do their own drives for Operation Santa Claus. The Krewe of Centaur just completed their annual Cake Auction, raising a massive $13,560 for Operation Santa Claus. The highlight of the night had to be Connie Whittington's famous candied pecans which created a bidding war and sold for a whopping $1,600.
On top of the cash, Centaur members have been collecting toys all month to add to the pile.
If your organization or businesses would like to help out with Operation Santa Claus, you can contact the organization here. It doesn't matter how big or small of a donation, every bit helps.
