Shreveport Police Arrest Two for Separate Gun Crimes
The Shreveport Police Department continues efforts removing firearms from the hands of people who are prohibited from possessing them.
Earlier this week, Shreveport Police made a traffic stop involving Keemi Ratliff. During the stop, SPD found that Ratliff had eight outstanding traffic warrants. Further investigation showed Ratliff was also in possession of a gun. Officers did a background check and found that Ratliff is not allowed to have a gun due to a prior weapons conviction.
Ratliff was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, in addition to multiple traffic-related violations.
In a separate incident in late February, Shreveport Police arrested Lance Richardson during a narcotics investigation. During that investigation, Richardson was also found to be in possession of a gun.
Richardson is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior narcotics convictions. He has been charged with Distribution of Narcotics as well as Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
From SPD:
"The Shreveport Police Department remains committed to aggressively targeting offenders who illegally possess firearms and pose a danger to the community."
