Shreveport Man Arrested for Home Invasion and Domestic Battery
On Saturday, Shreveport Police responded to a reported burglary/home invasion at the Riverscape Apartment Community.
A resident contacted SPD, reporting that a man had kicked in the door of their neighbor's apartment. The person who lived in the apartment also called the Police a short time later and identified the suspect as her child’s father, Darnell Harrison, saying he had forced his way into her apartment and assaulted her.
When SPD got to the scene, they secured the location, and found damage consistent with forced entry to the apartment door. Harrison had fled before Police got to the scene.
The victim told investigating Officers she was inside the apartment with a friend when Harrison broke in. During the confrontation, Harrison allegedly hit the victim's friend multiple times with a gun before turning his attention to the victim.
Investigators found surveillance footage from a neighbor that showed a man kicking in the victim’s apartment door. Officers later found Harrison and he was taken into custody without incident.
Darnell Harrison has been charged with the following:
-Domestic Abuse Battery – Misdemeanor
-Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault
-Simple Robbery
Harrison was taken to the Caddo Correctional Center, where he was booked..
