Wanted Shreveport Sexual Assault Suspect Turns Himself In

In August of 2023, the Shreveport Police Special Victims Unit began an investigation into a complaint of a ten-year-old juvenile being sexually assaulted by an adult male. Detectives investigated a reported sexual assault on the juvenile by Mathew Philyaw (02/16/94).

After further investigation into this incident, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Philyaw for one count of Molestation of a Juvenile. Philyaw, after being difficult to locate finally turned himself in to Shreveport Police.
