One Ticket Wins Mega Millions Jackpot – Louisiana Gets Wins Too

Right at 10 p.m. Tuesday here in Louisiana lottery players from around the state huddled around their computers to see if their lives were about to change. From New Orleans in the southeastern corner of the state to Shreveport in Louisiana's far northwest, there was an anticipation that last night was going to be the night the Mega Millions lottery game would finally get a jackpot winner. It turns out, it was.

The Mega Millions Lottery has confirmed that a single ticket sold for Tuesday, March 26, 2024, matched all the numbers needed to claim $1.13 billion. More details on last night's big win will be filtering in throughout the day but we do know a single ticket sold in New Jersey can lay claim to the big win.

If you'd like to verify your numbers you may do that officially at the Mega Millions website or the Louisiana Lottery website. If you visit the Louisiana Lottery site you may input several ticket numbers at once. Just in case you purchased a handful of them for the office or your "lottery group".

The Texas Lottery is confirming last night's game created 20 winners of $10,000 or more. The Texas Lottery Jackpot Page shows 16 different tickets that matched four of the five white balls along with the Mega Ball for a $10,000 win. Four more tickets sold in Texas matched the same numbers but those players opted in for the Megaplier, so their top prize will be $20,000.

Players in Louisiana were also the beneficiary of some great lottery luck. Two tickets sold in Louisiana matched four of the five with the Mega Ball to claim a $10,000 win. One of those tickets was sold in Shreveport, Louisiana at the Circle K store on Pines Road. The second Louisiana $10,000 winner was sold in Gretna, Louisiana. The Gretna winner was sold at Star Convenience SAtore on the Belle Chasse Highway.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be on Friday night. The jackpot will return to the starting total of $20 million.

For Tonight's Powerball lottery game, players will be attempting to match the numbers needed to claim another huge amount of cash. The Powerball jackpot by 10 p.m. tonight is expected to be $865 million for the annuity or $416.1 for the lump sum payout. That game, like Mega Millions, has not gotten a winner since the first of the year and it certainly seems poised to pay for some lucky players somewhere.

The Powerball drawing will be held at 10 p.m. along with drawings in the Louisiana Lottery games of Lotto, which features a top prize of $525,000, and Easy 5 which boasts big money of $130,000.
