John Hardy Arrested on Murder Charges
The Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested John Hardy on murder and fugitive charges. Originally, around 1 PM today, Hardy was taken into custody by Caddo Parish Sheriff's Deputies on an in-state fugitive charge. A short while ago, he was taken into custody by the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office and charged with murder.
At this time, there's not a lot of details being released about the investigation. However, BPSO says they are working with the Bossier Marshal's Office and Bossier City Police on the investigation and that additional arrests may be made.
This is the official statement released by Lt. Bill Davis from the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office:
Bossier Sheriff Julian Whittington says a man missing out of Bossier City was arrested Saturday afternoon on murder and obstruction of justice charges, as Bossier Sheriff’s Office detectives continue an active, ongoing investigation with the Bossier City Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service Task Force.
John Hardy, 43, of the 5800 block of Bayou Drive in Bossier City, was booked into the Bossier Maximum Security Facility in Plain Dealing around 3 p.m. Saturday on 2nd Degree Murder and Obstruction of Justice; he faces a $1,300,000 bond.
Detectives are actively continuing their investigation in this case, and additional arrests are possible.
Hardy, a former Bossier City Police Officer, went missing on February 19th. A short time before that, his business partner Garrett Wilson went missing on January 24th. Yesterday evening, human remains were discovered in a wooded area just outside of Benton.
While the BPSO has not officially commented on the discovery, many sources are reporting that the remains are believed to be that of Wilson. This is an on-going investigation and we will keep you posted with updates as we get them.
