Jon Moxley’s Infamous Pink Hair Moment in Bossier City
Jon Moxley is the current All Elite Wrestling World Champion, but his journey to the top of AEW was long and wouldn't have gotten where it is today if Moxley had not worked for AEW's #1 competitor in the past. Jon Moxley was once a part of World Wrestling Entertainment's roster, and one of his most infamous moments was born early into his work with WWE and it took place here in Bossier City.
How Jon Moxley Become the Lunatic Fringe
Jon Moxley had a rough upbringing but always found a distraction from the difficulties of life in watching his favorite wrestlers. Moxley was so inspired by wrestling he dropped out of high school to put himself through wrestling training. Moxley supported himself with minimum-wage jobs and whatever wrestling shows he could get booked on.
Moxley worked his way up the independent wrestling scene, making a name for himself as a violent and impressive wrestler. He was contacted by WWE for tryout matches in 2006 and 2007, though it wouldn't be until 2011 that he would sign a deal with WWE that would place him in the company's developmental brand Florida Championship Wrestling.
Moxley went on to work his way up to WWE's main roster with two other wrestlers in a trio of vigilantes who declared themselves The Shield. The Shield would later split up after a backstabbing and Moxley would return to a solo run of WWE where he would move on to win the Intercontinental Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship before he left the company in 2019.
After he left WWE he joined the recently founded All Elite Wrestling in the same year, becoming one of the biggest stars of WWE's competitor, as well as their world champion.
The Infamous Pink Hair
Since his first match in 2004, Moxley has made a name for himself as one of the most violent and bloody wrestlers alive today, which makes a photo of a young Jon Moxley with bright pink messy hair seem a little funny in comparison.
When Jon Moxley was wrestling on WWE's main roster he went by the name Dean Ambrose, and while fans would get to know Ambrose over a few years many had either never seen, simply forgotten, or never recognized the "Lunatic Fringe" for being that neon head of hair years before.
Moxley wrestled Val Venis on the January 19th, 2007 episode of WWE Heat in what was his second tryout match for the company. This young Moxley sported a bright pink head of hair that he never would bring back.
The current AEW World Champion has no doubt been haunted by this photo online for years, which may explain why his wife claims he maybe-not-so-accidentally dropped his phone in a fire.
