Kanye West racked up a whopping 17 nominations for the seventh annual BET Hip-Hop Awards despite not releasing a solo album since 2010.West has had a busy year; not only as a producer and a director, but as a collaborator with Jay-Z on the "Watch The Throne" album.

Chris Lighty, the hip-hop mogul who committed suicide last month, will be an honoree on the show.

Actor and comedian Mike Epps will return to host the show for the fourth straight year. The ceremony will be held at Atlanta's Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center, and will air on BET Oct. 9.
