Listen to what I do, not what I say.  LSU star Wide Reciever Kayshon Boutte has announced he now will declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.  Boutte's change of heart comes just 23 days after announcing he will return to LSU for his final season.

Boutte announced at the beginning of the month he would be returning to LSU to "compete for a National Championship." Then he announced he will not play in the Citrus Bowl against Purdue, but at that time, no one knew why.  He was still enrolled to start classes in the spring semester at LSU.

Well, now we know why he's not playing in the Citrus Bowl.  Boutte announced through a verified social media account that he is, in fact, going to declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Although this comes as disappointing news to LSU fans, it's not hard understand.  Boutte is expected to be a first round pick.  Staying for another year of college football opens him up to a high risk for injury, potentially costing him millions of dollars.

Boutte's 2022 season started off a bit rocky... after LSU's season opener loss to Florida State, he scrubbed any reference to LSU off of all of his social media, opening speculation that he wanted to enter the transfer portal, and was unhappy with the staff changes at LSU.  But he came back strong during the second half of the season, finishing with over 100 yards recieving, and a score during the  SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

Boutte received support for his decision from LSU staff, including head-coach Brian Kelly, who said,

We support Kayshon and his decision. He went through a thoughtful process and ultimately decided this was in his best interest. We appreciate all he did during his time at LSU and wish him well
