Kenny Wayne Shepherd Gets Star on Shreveport ‘Walk Of Stars’
Kenny Wayne Shepherd is a Shreveport music icon. From the age of 13 until now, Kenny has been cranking out tunes. From his hit single 'Blue on Black' to the theme song for a Batman Beyond movie to being nominated for a Grammy, Kenny has received worldwide acclaim. And, this weekend, Kenny will be receiving a huge honor right here in his hometown of Shreveport.
Saturday, June 27th, Kenny Wayne will receive a star on the Northwest Louisiana 'Walk of Stars' joining fellow Shreveport icons like Terry Bradshaw, Bill Joyce and James Burton. The ceremony is free of charge and will take place at 6 pm under the Red River Bridge in Downtown Shreveport.

Blues guitarist and Shreveport native Kenny Wayne Shepherd will be inducted into the Northwest Louisiana Walk of Stars in downtown Shreveport at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. All are welcome to attend this free event, but social distancing rules will be enforced and facial coverings must be worn. This induction was originally planned for March, but was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you plan on attending, organizers of the event are urging everyone to wear a face covering and to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Kenny may only 43, but he's been in the music business for over 30 years and has accomplished what many artists only dream of. Congrats Kenny! You've earned this honor.
