Leona Lewis showed everyone how it’s done with her ‘X Factor‘ performance of Snow Patrol’s ‘Run.’ The U.K. ‘X Factor’ winner proved she earned her victory — and the Grammy nominations, platinum records and global superstardom that came with it. Introduced by cherubic Rachel Crow, Lewis kept her performance simple. She was lit with only one spotlight, donning a sleek ponytail and simple black gown, letting her voice have center stage. Lewis was placed in front of screens playing a black and white montage of show footage — and the crowd went wild when their girl Drew appeared onscreen.

Lewis’ vocals are always appear effortless. While she’s more than capable of typical diva histrionics, they’re simply not necessary. Lewis was technically brilliant while looking subdued. That’s no small feat for most, but it’s absolutely typical for Lewis.

Lewis performed another cover (Nine Inch Nails’ ‘Hurt’) two weeks ago on the U.K. ‘X Factor’ finale, where she shared the stage with Coldplay. Lewis is making the rounds on the global ‘X Factor’ circuit in support of her ‘Hurt’ EP, which features her ‘Hurt’ cover as well as her own renditions of Goo Goo Dolls and Counting Crows hits.

Lewis’ performance cemented her once more as a master of the power ballad, but she may want to watch her back — Melanie Amaro is itching to usurp her throne!
